Paradise island: Gili Trawangan Indonesia

Palm Trees Gili Trawangan Title

Sry guys for not posting for a while, but I had some troubles with my laptop. It just broke down. At least I found a good shop where to fix it for a low price, so all good now.

Today’s post is all about cocktails and beaches in Gili Trawangan, Indonesia. How you can just relax and forget about everyday problems and enjoy margaritas. This is how we felt while in Gili Trawangan island. This was the REAL vacation we have had in months.

Gili Trawangan is one of the Gili Islands. There are three of them and Gili T., is the biggest. (Well the size of the biggest one is about 15 km².) The other two islands are called Gili Meno and Gili Air. I hope that one day I can go back to the Gilis and visit all three islands at once.

Nii olime me terve selle aja jooksul, mil me sellel pisikesel saarel olime. See oli meie PÄRIS puhkus üle pika aja.

Gili Trawangan on üks Gili saartest.

Biking around the island

In Gili Trawangan, there are no cars or buses. People just walk everywhere or bike, because the island is really small. You can rent a bike and just bike around the island within 3 hours. But, just so you know better, you have to deal with a sore ass the next day, because the “roads” are really bumpy over there. Also, i saw some scooters driving around the island, but really, there’s no need for those.

Sadly, the closer to the centre of the island you go, the more filthy it gets. Trash is every where! It’s sad and I’m pretty sure that it is going to grow more and more, because of the tourists.

We biked around the island and after this magic trip, we saw the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen! Of course the pictures won’t do it justice and I didn’t want to edit them either, so you guys have the actual vision of the sunset.

In the next post, I will talk more about Indonesian food and about our last destination – Bali! In Bali, we adventured a little bit more, like visited different Hindu temples, had a chat with the monkeys in the Monkey Forest and hiked a vulcano at 4 am. All this in the next post!

See you then! 🙂

Järgmises postituses räägin rohkem Indoneesia toitudest ning meie viimasest sihtpunktist Indoneesias – Bali! Balil me niisama ei jaksanud enam vedeleda ning seiklesime rohkem ringi. Näiteks käisime erinevates hindu templites, vestlesime ahvidega Ahvide Metsas ning ronisime kell 4 hommikul mitte enam nii aktiivse vulkaani otsa. Kõik see juba järgmises postituses!

Näeme siis! 🙂

    Hi Kerty!

I really appreciate your post because I’ve always wanted to go to Indonesia but never had the chance to see it in a visitor’s perspective like yours. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your perspective because it’s personal and easily relatable, especially for us who are curious into travelling to South East Asia.

      Hi Miguel!

Thank you for your beautiful comment! I really do encourage you to go and see different places in Indonesia. They are very different from each other and unique. Lombok, Gili Trawangan and Bali can’t be compared with each other, so I advise you, to take your time and explore different places in Indonesia!

      Best of luck!

    Hi Kerthy!

I’ so sorry for hearing about your Pc problems.
I enjoyed reading your review. I’ currently searching for a location for my honeymoon. Would you recommend this location or another one?

      Hey Andrei!

Thank you for your comment and congratulations to you and your partner!

I think The Gili islands are all perfect for honeymoon! To me, Lombok and Bali were a bit too busy, so I recommend Gili Trawangan or other Gili islands (Gili Air and Gili Meno) for honeymoon. Unfortunately, I haven’t been to the other Gili islands, but I’ve heard that they are more private, if you are more interested in that. When you and your partner want more adventure-type of honeymoon, then I recommend Bali. Bali has different waterfalls, Monkey Forest, temples and we also climbed a volcano. All this in my next posts, all about Bali. 🙂
